Research data is different from ordinary customer data. An unpublished dataset or draft chapter is irreplaceable, and a leak can breach your own ethics approval. We treat it accordingly.
What this site collects: almost nothing
These all work with no account, no email and no storage of your inputs:
- The Research Health Check. Your answers stay in your browser. If you bookmark the result, the information lives in that URL on your device — not on our server.
- Every calculator. Sample size, Cronbach's alpha, model fit, effect size, normality, references, word count, predatory journal scorer. Calculations happen in your browser. We never see the numbers you enter.
- Checklists. Ticks live in the browser tab and disappear when you close it.
- Reading any page. No account required, and no content is gated.
What we do hold
| What you send us on WhatsApp, email or a call | Your message and contact number. Kept while we are in contact with you and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can pick up where we left off. Ask and we delete it. |
|---|---|
| Work you send for a quote | A synopsis, dataset, manuscript or output file. Held only while quoting. If you do not proceed, it is deleted. If you do, it is covered by the row below. |
| Client work in progress | Your research material, held for the duration of the engagement and a defined period after delivery so you can come back with questions. Deleted on request at any time. |
| Basic server logs | Standard web server records held by our hosting provider. We do not use them to build a profile of you. |
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your data with anyone. Not to advertisers, not to partners, not to other scholars.
- We do not use your research in anyone else's work. Your data, instruments and drafts are yours. We do not reuse them as examples, teaching material or samples without asking you first.
- We do not tell your guide, department or anyone else that you contacted us, unless you ask us to.
- We do not run advertising trackers or sell audience data.
Confidentiality of research material
Unpublished research is treated as confidential by default:
- Access is limited to the person doing your work, not shared across the team as a matter of course
- We do not subcontract your material to anyone outside our own people without telling you
- Files are deleted on request, and we confirm when it is done
- If you want a written confidentiality undertaking before sending anything, ask — we will provide one
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Message the number below and a person handles it — there is no form to fill in.
Grievances
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, see the grievance page. It goes to a person, not a queue.
Changes
If this notice changes materially we will say so on this page with the date. It is not retroactive: material you sent under an earlier version stays under the terms you sent it under.
Note: this notice describes our actual practice in plain language. It is not legal advice, and it should be reviewed by a lawyer before you rely on it in a dispute.
Not sure this applies to you? Ask on WhatsApp. A person answers the same working day, free, and if a free tool here solves it we will point you at it.
