Two things this cannot tell you
- Your university's actual limit. These are conventional proportions, not a rule. Check your ordinance for the word or page limit and whether appendices count.
- How long revision takes. The estimate above covers first drafting only. Budget roughly the same again for your guide's comments and your own rewriting.
- Write methods and results first. They are the easiest to draft and the hardest to fake. The introduction is written last, once you know what you actually argued.
