Check these against your own style guide
- Your university may prescribe a style. Some faculties specify APA, others leave it to the guide. Confirm before you format 200 references.
- This handles journal articles. Books, chapters, theses, conference papers and websites each have their own pattern.
- Consistency matters more than the style itself. An examiner notices a reference list that switches conventions halfway through.
