What a viva actually tests

You are not being asked to present. You are being asked to defend every choice you made, and to show that you understand the limitations of your own work better than the examiner does. Preparing to present is the most common reason people struggle.

If you get major corrections

That is a normal outcome, not a failure — most theses need some. It sends you back to writing, not to the start.
